任何语言都是宜简不宜繁的,如果本可以少量的词汇但却偏偏使用许多词汇来表达同一个意思,这样的句子就是啰嗦的。语言不简洁一般来说有两个原因:第一是学生想要凑字以完成过字数要求;第二是盲目使用一些句型句式,或滥用模板。

如下的表格列举了一些常见的冗词。

如上三种情况:

第一种是在我们学习语言的初级阶段都会遇到的情况。左侧和右侧词汇都很简单,但左侧有多余的词汇。这个问题会随着学习者不断深入学习一门语言而消除;

第二种是目前考试类作文当中比较集中的情况。典型的特点是左侧的比右侧的复杂得多,那么这些词汇或短语不是因为不好(有时非常好),而是与考生其他方面的水平不匹配,就犹如一个穿着Prada上衣却搭配运动裤,甚至搭配篮球鞋的人。但多数情况下,这类词汇都是冗长的。

第三种是在平时阅读中也能见到的,严格来说它不能算冗词。但如果一味地为了应用这些词而使用,或是为了凑字数而使用,那么他们就会变成冗词;

第四种往往是考试时根据汉语意思而查出的同义英语词,然后看哪一个复杂就用哪一个而造成的情况。事实上,词与词之间是有区别的,有的词表面意思一样但感情色彩不一样,有的词意思完全一样但搭配不一样。同学们应该在字典里详细比较不同词的用法。
