英语名词在句子中主要做主语、宾语、表语、宾语补语和定语，例如：
1 . Nicholas came into the world with neither arms nor legs.（做主语）
2. As Nick grew up he learned to deal with his disability.（做宾语）
3There is a purpose in each of the struggles we encounter in our lives.（做表语）
4. They made Tom their captain of the football team. （做宾语补语）

名词可以做状语吗？其实名词是可以做状语的，但是我们在具体问题具体对待，不是所有名词都可以做状语的。名词做状语有下面两种情况。
一、兼有副词词性的名词
