（1）突出、伸出
英英释义：If something stands out from a surface, it rises up from it.
例句：

（2）引人注目、显眼，与众不同，出类拔萃
英英释义：If something stands out, it is very noticeable.
例句：
Hey, you look like a million dollars today. You stand out in the crowd.
你今天看起来美极了，在人群中很引人注目。

（3）拒不妥协、坚决反对
英英释义：be stubborn in resolution or resistance.
例句：
He is a tough cookie, and he stands out against all persuasion.
