大连理工大学（大工，Dalian University of Technology），创建于1949年，坐落于大连市，是教育部直属全国重点大学，教育部与国防科技工业局共建高校，教育部、辽宁省、大连市共建高校，是“世界一流大学”“985工程”“211工程”重点建设高校。该校入选“2011计划”“111计划”“卓越工程师教育培养计划”“国家建设高水平大学公派研究生项目”“新工科研究与实践项目”、中国政府奖学金来华留学生接收院校、国家实施工程教育改革试点高校、“国家大学生创新性实验计划”“国家级大学生创新创业训练计划”、全国深化创新创业教育改革示范高校、全国高校实践育人创新创业基地、高校科技成果转化和技术转移基地。该校是卓越大学联盟、中俄工科大学联盟、中俄交通大学联盟、中欧工程教育平台、中国人工智能教育联席会成员。[1]
大连理工大学的前身是创建于1949年4月的大连大学工学院。1950年7月大连大学工学院独立为大连工学院。1981年11月，学校成为全国首批博士和硕士学位授予单位。1988年3月更名为大连理工大学。

Dalian University of Technology (DOF), founded in 1949, is located in Dalian City. It is a national key University directly under the administration of the Ministry of Education. It is a University jointly built by the Ministry of Education and the State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defence. It is one of the "World-Class University", "Project 985" and "Project 211" universities under key construction. The school to be included in the "2011 project" and "111 project", "outstanding engineers education training plan" "national construction under high level university graduate student project" "new engineering project" research and practice, the Chinese government scholarship students receiving institutions in China, national implementation of engineering education reform pilot colleges and universities, "national college students' innovative experiment plan" "national college students' innovative undertaking National Demonstration University for Deepening Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Reform, National Innovation and Entrepreneurship Base for Practical Education in Colleges and Universities, and Base for the Transformation and Transfer of Scientific and Technological Achievements in Colleges and Universities. Dalian University of Technology (DUT) was formerly known as the School of Engineering of Dalian University, which was founded in April 1949. In July 1950, School of Engineering of Dalian University became Dalian Institute of Technology. In November 1981, the university became one of the first institutions in the country to grant doctoral and master's degrees. 1988 March, it was renamed Dalian University of Technology.
