绘本赏析

今天分享的绘本，名字叫《If you give a pig a pancake》，这本书来头不小，是世界经典图书之一，风靡全球30年。美国著名的Harper出版社出版，蝉联《纽约时报》畅销童书榜70余周，全球累计销量逾1000万册。
今天这个故事的主人公，养了一只“贪心”的小香猪，在她们的相处中，发生了怎样的趣事呢？
If you give a pig a pancake,
如果你给一只小猪一个煎饼，
She will want some syrup to go with it.
她会要一些糖浆蘸着吃。
You’ll give her some of your favorite maple syrup.
如果你给了她你最爱的枫叶糖浆。
She’ll probably get all sticky, so she’ll want to take a bath.
她可能会把全身弄得黏黏的，所以她会要洗个澡。
She’ll ask you for some bubbles.
她会问你要肥皂泡。
When you give her the bubbles, she'll probably ask you for a toy.
当你给她肥皂泡，她可能会问你要个玩具。
You’ll have to find your rubber duck.
你不得不给她你的小鸭子。
The duck will remind her of the farm where she was born.
这只小鸭子会让她想起她出身的农场。
She might feel homesick and want to visit her family.
她可能会想家，想要回去看她的家人。
She’ll want you to come too.
她可能要你也一起去。
She’ll look through your closet for a suitcase.
她会去你的衣橱里面找一套礼服。
Then she’ll look under your bed.
那时她会看到你的床底下。
When she’s under the bed, she’ll find your old tap shoes.
当她看到床底下，她将会找到你的旧踢踏鞋。
She’ll try them on. She’ll probably need something special to wear with them.
她可能会试穿。她可能需要特别的装饰来搭配这双踢踏鞋。
When she's all dressed, she’ll ask for some music.
当她打扮好之后，她会想要听音乐。
You’ll play your very best piano piece, and she’ll start dancing.
你可能会弹奏自己最拿手的钢琴曲，然后她将会开始跳舞。
Then she’ll want you to take her picture.
她将会让你帮她拍照。
So you’ll have to get your camera.
所以你不得不去拿自己的照相机。
When she sees the picture, she’ll ask you to take more.
但她看到照片，她会让你拍更多的照片。
Then she’ll want to send one to each of her friends.
那她就可以把照片寄给她的朋友们。
You’ll have to give her some envelopes and stamps and take her to the mailbox.
你将会给她一些信封和邮票，然后带她去信箱投信。
On the way, she`ll see the tree in your backyard.
在路上，她会看到你后院里的树。
She’ll want to build a tree house.
她会想要建一个树屋。
So you’ll have to get her some wood, a hammer, and some nails.
所以你不得不给她一些木材、一把斧子、一些钉子。
When the tree house is finished,
当书屋完成了，
she’ll want to decorate it.
她会要装饰一下树屋。
She’ll ask for wallpaper and glue.
她会向你要墙纸和胶。
When she hangs the wallpaper, she’ll get all sticky.
当她贴好墙纸之后，她弄得全身黏黏的。
Feeling sticky will remind her of your favorite maple syrup.
黏黏的感觉会让她想起你最爱的枫叶糖浆。
She’ll probably ask you for some.
她很可能向你要一些。
And chances are, if she asks you for some syrup,
如果她问你要糖浆，很有可能，
she’ll want a pancake to go with it.
她会想要一个煎饼就着吃。
