1. ship
An abbreviation of the word 'relationship.' The word describes fans' approval of fictional or desired romances between characters or pop culture figures.
“relationship”的简称,用来表示粉丝对爱豆之间喜闻乐见的拉郎、组cp。
例句:'They're so cute together, I totally ship them.'
……本还以为这个“ship”和咱们国内“友谊的小船”是类似的意思,没想到人家的刺激多了。
2. FR (for real)
This is a way to agree with what someone has just said.
表示对其他人的赞同,约等于“复议”“ 1”“ 10086”……
或者也可以表示对自己的话的肯定,约等于“讲真”“就酱”……(这条可参见Urban Dictionary)
例句:'I am loving all the new box sets on Netflix right now. FR'.
3. woke
This is one of the biggest buzzwords going round, and was even chosen by Oxford Dictionaries as one of the words of 2016.
Essentially, the more 'woke' someone is, the more they understand about a topic or a person. It is most often used to describe a man who is also a feminist (as most men should be).
说一个人很“woke”,表示这人非常开明、明事理、懂行、能get到点、会接棱子……
上面这最后半句挺有意思的,说用woke来形容有女权思想的男性非常适合——嗯,most men should be!
例句:'Love hearing Daniel Radcliffe praise the HeForShe campaign, he is so woke!'
4. low key
Low key can be used in place of the formerly popular phrase 'down low,' meaning something you don't want everyone to know about.
“low key”这词咱们都很熟啦,就是“低调”的意思。
例句: 'I low key tripped walking into Waitrose today.'
5. high key
This is the opposite of low key. Another way to say you really love or approve of something.
“低调”的反义词,自然就是“高调”啦~
例句:'I high key love Ed Sheeran's new song.'
6. aesthetic
The new 'vibe.' Vibe has a lovely, groovy 70s feel, but it's been updated for today's visual world.
非常时候装X的一个词。“aesthetic”本意指“审美”,套用到如今的流行话里面,可以大致理解为“腔调”。比如说,“我就喜欢XXX那个雅痞的调调~”
例句:'I'm obsessed with Kim K's new Insta aesthetic!'
7. savage
It means vicious, or wounding, in an exaggerated way.
“恶毒”“残忍”“伤人”等等的夸张表达。放在中文网络用语里,估计约等于“多大仇!”或者“人干事!”(“人干事”=“这是人干的事吗!”)
例句1:'The babysitter cancelled on us at last minute, savage.'
例句2:'The shots we did last night were savage!
8. live
When something is so good, you can't wait for it.
Pronounced liv, rather than live.
指某某东西超棒,棒到你就指着这玩意儿活着了……比方说,“我家爱豆新出的专辑我能舔一年!就指着爱豆的歌活着了!”
例句:'I live for those memes', or 'I'm living for that gig on Saturday.'
9. calm
The new 'sweet'. It means it's fine or cool, don't worry about it.
“没事儿”“还好啦”“不错耶”“挺好的”“淡定~”……简简单单一个“calm”是不是认不出来了?
例句:'Shall we split the bill?' 'No, it's calm.'
为帮助理解,再附赠一个Urban Dictionary的例句:
- "Just copped a pair of yeezys." 刚又败了双鞋~
- "That's calm." 不错耶!
10. extra
When someone or something isn't necessary. A bit like 'random'.
可以理解为“可有可无的”“鸡肋的”。
例句:'I left the club early last night, it was full of extras!'
上面的解释里还提到了“extra”还有点儿“random”的意思。
“random”这个词也挺有意思的,是近来国外年轻人特别喜欢挂在嘴边的一个词,充满了微妙的吐槽感。
感受下Urban Dictionary里关于“random”的例句:
Uni Student: "Cheese! HA HA!"
Another Uni Student: "Wow that's soooo RANDOM! Let's go and buy some trendy clothes which have meaningless and pretentious words/numbers all over to make us look random."
……你看懂这个对话了吗?

看了英文世界里最火的网红词,咱们再来看几个中文的。
Asian Language School是国外一家教语言的网站,歪果仁们可以在上面学习中文、日语、韩语等等。
前两天,这家网站也刊登了一些对中国最近流行的网络词汇的介绍和解释,也算是给老外们“扫扫盲”。
然而,有些解释就显得挺天真了……
1. 老司机
Originally, 老司机 means industry veterans. The meaning is then used to refer to experts within online forums and games. Today, the use of the word has been extended further to include people who are in general knowledgeable and resourceful.
“见多识广”就是老司机?小盆友你太天真了,“老司机”这词没你想得那么简单……
2. 厉害了我的哥
This phrase is used to express admiration to something or someone.
……这句话当然也有表达尊敬之意。但是,更多的还是调侃吧?
3. 我也是醉了
This expression in general can be used to describe that one is speechless toward someone or something because one cannot understand it. It can also be used to express contempt.
嗯,这句倒是没啥大问题。如果有老外问起“我也是醉了”是啥意思,小伙伴们不妨就案这个来解释。
4. 呵呵
呵呵 originally is used to express laughter or happiness. It now can be used for a range of other expressions, such as to express agreement, sympathy, mockery, or helplessness.
感觉“呵呵”如今最多的感情色彩就是“mockery”了……反讽意味妥妥儿地。
5. 我擦
我擦 can be used to replace a swear word that at the same time expresses surprise, dissatisfaction, or anger. It is mostly used by young people. 我 can be omitted from the expression.
……嗯,这解释也是满分。(虽然这词那啥了点)
6. 么么哒
么么哒 is like ‘mwah mwah’; means ‘kiss kiss’.
……对这个卖萌的世界绝望了。
