一、单词记忆
初中的时候我们学过一个单词，pronounce，这个单词是由两部分组成的，前缀pro=pre=pr表示before，“在…之前”，nounce是一个词根，表示report，“报告”的意思。所以pronounce的第一个含义，在做报告之前要做的事，练习一下自己的“发音”，第二个含义，在众人前面做个报告，就是“正式宣布”。
我们今天这个单词把前缀改成了an=ad=to，“去”的意思，announce就是去做个报告，就是“宣布，宣告；通知”的意思。
二、单词用法及辨析
1.announce是个及物动词，后面直接加宾语：announce sth.
They will announce the result of the vote tonight.
今晚他们将宣布投票结果。

2.短语announce sth.to sb.：向某人宣布/通告某事
这个短语在实际使用时有点不一样，我们来翻译一个句子：
请对班上同学宣布明天没有课。
announce sth.to sb.这个短语中
sth.：明天没有课，这要用一个句子来表达，也就是要写成宾语从句。
sb.：班上同学
Please announce that there will be no school tomorrow to the class .
这个时候我们就发现这个宾语从句比后面的to the class要长很多，这个句子显得肚子太大，很不好看，外国人通常是把宾语从句挪到后面去的，写成：
Please announce to the class that there will be no school tomorrow.
所以其实这个短语经常写成announce to sb. that 宾语从句
[复习]其实类似的结构我们初中的时候也学过
make sure that…：确保…
这个结构其实就是make sth. adj.
这里的形容词是sure，然后sth.如果复杂一点要用一个句子表达，就要写成宾语从句，比如说：
请确认你明天准时到达。
Make that you arrive on time tomorrow sure.
肚子太大，所以宾语从句被挪到到后面去了：
Make sure that you arrive on time tomorrow.
3.It is announced that…：据宣布…
这是一个含有主语从句的复合句。
我们来翻译一个句子：
他宣布星期六下午有个讲座。
He announced that there would be a lecture on Saturday afternoon.
然后我们改写成被动语态。
That there would be a lecture on Saturday afternoon was announced.
这个句子主语太长，头重脚轻，我们用形式主语it代替，真正的主语也就是主语从句被挪到了后面。
It was announced that there would be a lecture on Saturday afternoon.
星期六下午有个讲座，特此通知。
