最近《战狼2》热映。电影中有一句经典台词：
犯我中华者，虽远必诛。
意思就是说，如果有谁侵犯了中国，虽然隔得比较远，但也要将其消灭。由于《战狼2》太火，BBC官网都报道了，碰巧还翻译了这句话：
Anyone who offends China will be killed no matter how far the target is.（来源：BBC官网，地址为bbc/news/blogs-china-blog-40811952）
直译就是：任何冒犯中国的人，不管目标有多远都将被杀死。其中anyone是主语，who offends China是修饰anyone的定语。与其舍近求远，不如简单粗暴，既然BBC官网已经为我们翻译好了，就保存下来学习吧！*_*
其实除了“犯我中华者，虽远必诛”之外，电影中有一段话也很经典：
中华人民共和国公民：当你在海外遭遇危险，不要放弃！请记住，在你身后，有一个强大的祖国！
其实这段话出自电影末尾处的中国护照（但真正的中国护照上并没有这句话）。
再长的段落也是由句子组成的，再长的句子也是由短语和单词组成的，只要我们把这段话中的关键语言点翻译出来，其实问题就已经基本解决了。
1. 中华人民共和国公民 the citizens of the People's Republic of China。citizen是“公民”，“网民”就是netizen（下面的例句中会出现），也就是Internet和citizen的合成词。the People's Republic of China是“中华人民共和国”，要注意大写和加the。
2. 在海外遭遇危险 encounter danger overseas。这里的“遭遇”用encounter比较好，因为encounter不仅可以和danger搭配（这时danger不能加s），而且它是正式用语，写在护照上是得体的。“在海外”和overseas精确对应。
【例】Featuring the voices of Nicolas Cage and Emma Stone, the film tells of a prehistoric family who encounter danger and strange new creatures when they are forced to quit their cave.（来源：BBC官网，地址为bbc/news/entertainment-arts-21922873）
【例】It dealt with 3,250 Britons in hospital, 4,770 who were arrested, and the families of 3,670 who died overseas.（来源：BBC官网，地址为bbc/news/uk-35982473）
3. 在你身后，有一个强大的祖国 the powerful motherland is behind you。这样的翻译看起来很像中式英语，但其实不是。首先，我们在说“祖国”的时候，有自豪感和归属感，这跟the motherland精确对应（注意要加the）。Collins COBUILD Advanced Learner's Dictionary 5th Edition对motherland的解释是：The motherland is the country in which you or your ancestors were born and to which you still feel emotionally linked, even if you live somewhere else。其中的feel emotionally linked相当于“有归属感”，even if you live somewhere else是“尽管你在其他地方”，很符合中文“祖国”的意境。
【例】"Watching the launch, I feel the motherland is getting more and more powerful. Long live the motherland!" a netizen said on Sina Weibo , China's Twitter-like microblogging platform.（来源：BBC官网，地址为bbc/news/world-asia-pacific-15124952）
以上例句是当时BBC官网报道我国天宫1号发射时的场景，说话人是一个中国人。the motherland is getting more and more powerful和long live the motherland分别是“祖国越来越强大”和“祖国万岁”。此外还有“新浪微博”的说法Sina Weibo，以及它的解释China's Twitter-like microblogging platform，如果对方不明白Sina Weibo，就可以这样解释一下。
其次，“在你身后有一个强大的祖国”其实是在说“强大的祖国会支持你”，而behind正好有“支持”的意思，而且跟中文的“身后”完全对应，这样翻译不仅地道而且在用词上也对等，有没有丝丝入扣的感觉呢？*_*
【例】I suppose I'm lucky because my parents were behind me all the way.（来源：Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English）
综上，“中华人民共和国公民：当你在海外遭遇危险，不要放弃！请记住，在你身后，有一个强大的祖国！”可以翻译为：
The citizens of the People’s Republic of China, when you encounter danger overseas, do not give up! Please remember that the powerful motherland is behind you!
请注意，do not不要缩写为don't，因为这是正式文体。
