首先我们通过几道题来体会一下一般现在时。
用括号内动词的适当形式填空：
(1)He oftenhas (have) dinner at home．（频率副词often 表示一般现在时）
(2)Daniel and Tommyare (be) in Class One．（表示现在的状态，因为是两个人所以用are）
(3)The girl teaches (teach) us English on Sundays．(on Sundays 表示每逢星期天，用一般现在时)
(4)She and I take (take) a walk together every evening．（every 时间名词，所构成的名词短语相当于频率副词，表示一般现在时
一、谓语的构成：一般现在时主要用动词原形表示，如果主语是第三人称单数，则在动词原形后后加-s/-es，be动词用am , is ,are .
二、用法：1、表示现在的动作或状态。
我喜欢电脑游戏。 I like computer games.
Lily住在这里吗？ Does Lily live here?
我是一个学生。 I am a student.
2. 表示经常或习惯性动作。
Amy通常早上6:30起床。 Amy usually gets up at six thirty.
我每天步行上学。 I walk to school every day.
3. 表示客观真理与客观事实。
太阳东升西落。 The sun rises in the east and sets in the west.
地球绕着太阳转。 The earth moves around the sun.
4. 表示按时刻表或安排即将发生的动作。
火车十点半发车。 The train leaves at half past ten.
期末考试下星期举行。 The final exam holds next week.
三、一般现在时的标志词：(1) every day/week / month/year / spring…
(2) in the morning / afternoon evening…
(3) on Mondays，on Tuesdays…
(4) always，usually，often, sometimes，seldom，hardly，never，等频率副词。
四、谓语动词第三人称单数的构成方法：1、—般情况加-s，例如：looks，listens，visits
2、以-s, -es, -sh,或-ch 结尾的词，加-es, 例如：teaches，washes，guesses，watch-watches,
3、辅音字母 y结尾，变y为i加-es，例如：carry-carries，study-studies
4．特殊变化：have-has , be- is
写出下列动词的第三人称单数形式：
go-goes, play-plays, open-opens, clean-clans, do-does, empty-empties, live-lives , watch-watches, be-is ,have-has.
小贴士：在—般现在时中，如果主语是第三人称单数，谓语动词要用单数第三人称形式。（可以简记为主语是三单，谓语用单三形式）。
五，习题演练。用括号内动词的适当形式填空
This is Peter. He___is _ (be) eleven years old. He__lives_ (1ive) in London．His mother and father___are__ (be) from Germany，so Peter _speaks_ (speak) English and German．He hasn’t got a sister but he’s got two brothers．He_doesn’t _want(want) to be a doctor like his father.

（解析：every weekend 是一般现在时的时间状语，所以选A.）
2.（2019，河南，27）-- Do you always get up so early?

(解析：为了赶上第一班公交车，表示目的，用不定式，选B)
.3.（2018，北京，7）Bill likes reading. He _______ picture books with his dad every evening.
A. read B. reads C. is reading D. has read
(解析：every evening 表示一般现在时，主语是第三人称单数he ,所以动词也用三单形式，选B.)
4.（2017， 天津，25）The earth is a planet and it ______ around the sun.
A. goes B. go C. will go D. went
(解析：表示客观真理用一般现在时，句意是“地球围绕这太阳转”)
5.（2017，重庆，36）As soon as the rain _______, they will go out to pick apples.
A. stops B. stopped C. will stop D. is stopping
（解析：这句话用的是主将从现，主语用一般将来时，as soon as 引导的从句用一般现在时。在含时间状语或条件状语的从句中，如果主句用一般将来时，从句也应该用一般将来时，但是从句的一般将来时用一般现在时代替，简称为“主将从现”。）
6.（2016， 重庆，38）Don’t worry. Bill will look after your dog when you _____ away on business.
A. are B. were C. will be D. have been
（解析：这句话是含时间状语的复合句，也遵从主将从现，所以选A.）
