1、for 表示“时间长达……”，一般后面加一段时间，常用于现在完成时和过去完成时。例如:
(1）He has lived in Shanghai for three years. 他住在上海三年了。
(2） He said he had been in China for . about a month. 他说他在中国大约一个月了。
2、during 表示“在……时间内”的行为或状态，与一段时间的整体连用。如：during the winter, during the last year, during 2020等。也可以与表示延续事件的名词连用，如during my childhood, during their stay, during her visit 等。一般不用于现在完成时的句子里。例如：
(1）During the winter we go skating. 冬 季我们滑冰。
(2）Many students went to see him during his illness. 在他生病期间很多 学生去看他。
3、through 表示“从……开始到结束(全过程）”例如：
(1）It is very cold through the whole . winter this year. 今年整个冬天都 很冷。
(2）l do my homework through the . whole day. 一整天我都在做作业。
