On October 9th, the Chinese Athletics Association announced the evaluation results of the 2019 China Marathon grading and characteristics. The 2019 Zhengzhou International Marathon was upgraded from a bronze to a silver tier event. The Zhengzhou International Marathon is the first urban marathon exclusive to Zhengzhou. At its inception, this city made it clear that it intends to create an international, high-quality, and high-standard brand event for all. Zhengzhou has integrated dynamic elements and cultural content into the event, making it a large platform to showcase the city's international vision and new developments to global audiences. This practice makes the event more interesting, accessible and approachable to all.
10月9日，中国田径协会正式对外公布了2019中国马拉松等级赛事及特色赛事评定结果，2019郑州国际马拉松赛从首届的铜牌赛事升级为银牌赛事。作为首个“郑州专属”的城市马拉松赛事，郑州马拉松赛从筹备之初就明确要以“高起点、高标准、高品质”为准则，以“大平台、大视野、大传播”为手段，以“有活力、有文化、有温度”为方向，打造一场国际化、精品化、高标准、全民性的品牌赛事。
The Chinese Athletics Association has annually graded marathon events held in cities on the basis of three standards: gold, silver, and bronze since 2012. Evaluation criteria include the timing point, display team, the number of specially invited foreign athletes, the performance of athletes, the scale, the location of doping and EPO testing. The Chinese Athletics Association illustrated its approval and trust in the Zhengzhou International Marathon by rating it as a silver tier event.
2012年起，中国田径协会每年都会对各城市举办的各类马拉松赛事以金牌、银牌、铜牌三个标准进行等级评定。评定办法对计时点、赛事展示团队、国外特邀选手数量、参赛选手成绩、规模、赛事兴奋剂检查的地点以及EPO检测等都作了要求。能够获得银牌赛事的殊荣，充分体现了中国田径协会对郑马从赛事筹备到运行工作的认可与信任。
Awarded as "an event with national folk characteristics"获评“民族民俗特色赛事”
The Zhengzhou International Marathon is the only marathon that runs through the core urban area, allowing runners to fully experience the cultural charm of Zhengzhou from ancient times to the present. While bringing social benefits to the city, it won a good reputation in the industry as well as praise by runners from all over the country. In 2018, the first Zhengzhou International Marathon won the bronze medal in the 2018 China Marathon and took home the award for "an characteristic event with the most beautiful track". In 2019, the second Zhengzhou International Marathon was rated as a silver tier event. At the same time, it also won the title of "an event with national folk characteristics" by integrating surname culture into the marathon. It has become a characteristic marathon category of central China.
作为唯一的一个赛道穿越核心城区、可以让跑友充分感受郑州从古至今文化魅力的马拉松赛事，“郑马”目前已经连续举办2018和2019两届，不仅收获了良好的社会效益及业界口碑，更赢得了全国广大跑友的赞誉。2018年，首届“郑马”获评2018中国马拉松铜牌赛事，同时将“最美赛道特色赛事”奖项收入囊中；2019年，第二届“郑马”再上新台阶，在升级为银牌赛事的同时，还凭借极具中原特色的“姓氏马拉松”获评“民族民俗特色赛事”。
The "2020 China Marathon Event" was held in April 2020. During the event, the Zhengzhou International Marathon recieved wide recognition from the industry and runners, and was selected into the top 20 of the“Most Influential Marathons 2019", ranking No.1 in Henan Province. Winning this honor two years after its inception, it became the youngest one on the list. As an emerging marathon in China, Zhengzhou International Marathon is becoming the new image of Zhengzhou. The Zhengzhou International Marathon will continue to strive for the gold medal, and eventually become a "double gold event" recognized by the IAAF and the Chinese Athletics Association.
2020年4月，在“2020中国马拉松风云会”上，仅仅举办第二届的“郑马”获得业界和跑友的广泛认可，成为“2019年最具影响力马拉松赛事排行榜”前二十名当中最年轻的赛事，也是河南省排名最高的赛事。作为国内马拉松领域冉冉升起的新兴赛事，“郑马”正在成为郑州新的城市名片。据悉，“郑马”接下来将继续向金牌赛事冲刺，最终目标是将赛事打造成国际田联和中国田协认可的“双金赛事”。
