一天当中的主要时间是：morning；afternoon；evening ；night。
1. in the 和 on 与一天当中的时间连用(1)用in the morning, in the afternoon, in the evening和in the night来谈论事情发生的时间。
- She woke up in the morning feeling ill.她早上起来感到不舒服。
- It rained in the night.夜晚天下起了雨。
(2)也可以用 in the morning (s), in the afternoon (s）和 in the evening (s)来表达在这些时间里定期频繁发生的事物。
- You could sit there in the evening and listen to the radio.
- 你可以每天晚上坐在那儿听广播。
- Most of us play golf in the afternoons.
- 我们大多数人都在下午打高尔夫球。
(3)当表达在晚上定期发生的事情时，不使用 in the night 或 in the nights，而说 at night。
- We lock the doors at night. 晚上我们把门锁上。
(4)当 morning, afternoon, evening 和 night 前有具体的星期几时，应使用介词 on。
- Mum arrived at my house on Friday evening. 妈妈在星期五晚上到达我的住所。

2.this 与一天当中的时间连用
（1）在 morning, afternoon 和 evening 前加 this 表示当天的时间。
- The report will be on your desk this afternoon.
- 今天下午，报告将放在你的桌子上。
(2)我们用 tonight 和 today 来分别表示今晚和今天，而不用的 this night 和 this today。
- I'I be late for dinner tonight.今天晚饭我可能会迟到。
- I had lunch with Delia today.今天我和迪莉娅一起吃了午餐。
3. yesterday 与ー天当中的时间连用
(1) 将 yesterday 放在 morning, afternoon 和 evening 之前，表示昨天的时间
- He went to work yesterday morning as usual.
- 昨天早上他照常去上班
(2)用 last night 来表达昨天晚上，而不说 yesterday night.
- Where were you last night?你昨天晚上在哪儿？
4.tomorrow 与一天当中的时间连用
将 tomorrow 放在 morning, afternoon, evening 和 night 之前，表示接下来一天的时间。
- Would you like to come for dinner tomorrow night?
- 明天晚上你愿意过来晚饭吗？
