北京交通大学(北京交大,Beijing Jiaotong University),创建于1896年,坐落于北京市,是中国教育部直属的全国重点大学,由教育部、交通运输部、北京市人民政府、中国国家铁路集团有限公司共建,位列“211工程”“985工程优势学科创新平台”“世界一流学科建设高校”。该校入选“高等学校创新能力提升计划”“高等学校学科创新引智计划”“卓越工程师教育培养计划”、国家建设高水平大学公派研究生项目、新工科研究与实践项目、中国政府奖学金来华留学生接收院校,是北京高科大学联盟、中俄交通大学联盟成员高校。

北京交通大学前身是1896年创建的北京铁路管理传习所,历经交通部交通传习所、北京铁路管理学校、北京邮电学校时期,1921年与上海工业专门学校、唐山工业专门学校合并组建交通大学,1923年更名为北京交通大学,1970年恢复使用“北方交通大学”校名,1981年成为中国首批博士、硕士、学士学位授予单位,2003年恢复使用“北京交通大学”校名。

Beijing Jiaotong University (" Beijing Jiaotong University "), founded in 1896, is located in Beijing. It is a national key University directly under the administration of the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China. It is co-built by the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Transport, the Beijing Municipal People's Government, and China National Railway Corporation Limited. It has been listed in the "211 Project", "985 Project Advantage Discipline Innovation Platform" and "World First-Class Discipline Construction University". The school in the institutions of higher learning innovation ability promotion program "institutions of higher learning discipline innovation plan" exchanging "outstanding engineers education training plan", the national construction of high-level university professional graduate programs, new technical research and practice project, the Chinese government scholarship students receiving institutions in China, is a Beijing high-tech university union, Russia and China jiaotong university alliance members in colleges and universities.

Beijing Jiaotong University (BJTU), formerly known as Beijing Railway Management School founded in 1896, went through the period of the Ministry of Communications Communication Communication School, Beijing Railway Management School, and Beijing School of Posts and Telecommunications. In 1921, it merged with Shanghai Technical School and Tangshan Technical School to form Jiaotong University. In 1923, it was renamed Beijing Jiaotong University. In 1970, it resumed its use of the name of "North Jiaotong University". In 1981, it became one of China's first batch of institutions granting doctor's, master's and bachelor's degrees. In 2003, it resumed its use of the name of "Beijing Jiaotong University".
