I used to believe there was a path for everyone.

英文解释：
used to say that sth happened continuously or frequently during a period in the past.
相关例句：

● 2.You used to see a lot of her, didn't you?

实用短语2：as often as not
原句中省略了第一个as, 完整的表达应该是as often as not，与 more often than not用法一样。
可以表示“通常；往往；一贯”。
英文解释：
usually; in a way that is typical of sb/sth
相关例句：

他上班往往迟到。
● 2.As often asnot, he forgets his homework.
他往往忘了做家庭作业.
实用句型：It never occurred to me that...我从来没想过...
原句中省略了it，完整的句型应该是It never occurred to me that...
这个句型还可以变化。
1)that从句也可以替换成to do sth。
It never occurred to me to do sth.
2)me也可以改成其他人。
It never occurred to sb that../to do sth...
3)时态还可以改一下，改成过去完成时。
It had never occurred to me that....
