一、过去分词的一般式
规则动词的过去分词与过去式一样，由动词加-ed构成，而不规则动词的过去分词则需逐个记忆。如：
Rejected by all his friends, he decided to become a monk.由于被所有朋友所抛弃，他决定去当和尚。
Driven beyond endurance, he ran away from the plantation. 他忍无可忍从种植园逃了出来。
Asked for an explanation, Mike had fumbled for words. 要求他作出解释时，迈克支支吾吾找话说。
二、过去分词的进行式和完成式
过去分词与现在分词不同，过去分词通常只有一般式，既没有进行式也没有完成式。如：
这东西同牛奶和糖一起吃，是一顿美味的早饭。
正：Served with milk and sugar, it makes a delicious breakfast.
误：Been served with milk and sugar, it makes a delicious breakfast.
三、过去分词的被动式
过去分词本身可以表示被动意义，所以它没有被动式。如：
在她的榜样的鼓舞下，他们都怀着新的使命感投入到工作中。
误：Been encouraged by her example, they all set to work with a fresh sense of purpose.
正：Encouraged by her example, they all set to work with a fresh sense of purpose.
