今日阅读：
①Pumas are large, cat-like animals which are found in America. ②When reports came into London Zoo that a wild puma had been spotted forty-five miles south of London, they were not taken seriously.③However, as the evidence began to accumulate, experts from the Zoo felt obliged to investigate, for the descriptions given by people who claimed to have seen the puma were extraordinarily similar.

（1）as的用法
①引出时间状语从句
在这个句子中，as the evidence began to ……，这里as引导的是一个时间状语，表示“随着”，“当……时”
He came up as I was speaking. 我正说话的时候，他来了。
②引出原因状语从句
As this problem is of great interest, we will discuss it once again. 因为这个问题很有意义，所以我们再讨论一次。
③比较状语从句
as … as的用法
Her answer is as plain as plain can be. 她的答复再明白不过了。
④引出同位语从句
昨天我们学习了使用that引出同位语。今天的as同样可以引出同位语。
He told us about his experiences as a young man. 他告诉了我们有关他年轻时的一些经历。
（2）oblige sb. to do sth. 表示迫使某人做某事
I obliged him to come on holiday with me.我强迫他在假日时跟我一起来。
在今天的句子中，使用的是feel obliged to do sth.也可以用be obliged to do sth. 使用的是被动语态。表示被迫做某事。
He felt obliged to let her in. 他只处让她进来。
（3）the description given by people中的过去分词用法
我们都知道的一个事情是，一个句子里只能有一个谓语。注意这里说的是谓语。而如果要表示很多个动作，其他动词就只能使用非谓语。这里使用的是过去分词，也可以用动名词以及动词不定式。
description则常与give或make搭配使用。
（4）who引导的定语从句
who claimed to have seen the puma中的who引导定语从句，来修饰前面出现的people。
who跟昨天学习的when一样，都可以做疑问词使用，但当不做疑问词时，其一般就用于定语从句中，当然还有一种用法就是用在强调句型中。使用it is … who的用法
