②其否定式为not as/so adj./ adv.

③可用(not) nearly, almost, just, nothing like, exactly, not quite, half, one-ten, twice, three times, 30 per cent等修饰，这些词须放在第一个as之前。
④当涉及数量或程度可用：as much (不可数名词 ) as/as many (可数名词复数 ) as。如:
You must speak English as much as possible.你必须尽可能地多说英语。
You've made as many mistakes as I have.你犯的错误和我犯的一样多。
⑤注意下列结构的词序
她和她妈妈一样是位好厨师。
正： She is as good a cook as her mother.
误：She is as a good cook as her mother.

7. The river is so wide that we can't swim across.这条河如此宽以至于我们游不过去。
7.1so…that…意为“如此……以至于……”，so是副词，常常用来修饰形容词和副词，that引导结果状语从句，常和too…to…结构互换。
My sister is too young to go to school. 我妹妹是如此的小以至于不能去上学。=My sister is so young that she can't go to school.
7.2so…that 从句结构中，so 后面跟的中心词为形容词或副词；两种构成：
① so adj. that从句 如此……以至于…… 用法：引导结果状语从句
He is so excellent that every teacher likes him.他是如此的优秀以至于每个老师都喜欢他。
②so adv. that从句 如此……以至于……用法：引导结果状语从句
She studied so hard that he got good grades. 她学习如此努力以至于她取得了好成绩。
7.3such…that从句结构中，such后面跟的中心词为名词；三种构成：
①such a/an （形容词） 可数名词单数 that从句
He is such an excellent student that every teacher likes him.
他是如此优秀的一个学生以至于每个老师都喜欢他。
②such （形容词） 可数名词复数 that从句。用法：引导结果状语从句
They are such excellent students that every teacher like them.
他们是如此优秀的学生以至于每个老师都喜欢他们。
③such （形容词） 不可数名词 that从句 用法：引导结果状语从句
It such good weather that we want to go out to play. 天气如此好以至于我们想去外面玩。

8.1without介词，没有;缺乏;不和…在一起;无…相伴;不用;不拿;不带;不（做某事）。
9. They seldom watch TV these days because they are very busy.
这些天他们很少看电视，因为他们很忙。
9.1Seldom的用法：
①seldom是频度副词，意思是“很少,罕见,难得”。
②seldom具有否定意味，在句中一般位于系动词、情态动词、助动词之后、实义动词之前,用于句首表示强调时，要主谓部分倒装。
③seldom用于反意疑问句时，附加问句中不用否定词not。
④seldom在下列情况下也可用作表语：
i用于以it作形式主语而以that从句作真实主语的结构中;
ii用于修饰时间状语从句的定语从句中;
iii用于修饰时间状语从句的插入语中。
