1. be/feel under the weather
该习语用来表示“身体不适,生病”。其他类似表达有“I am sick./I feel ill.”。
Don't disturb her. She's feeling under the weather these days.
别去打扰她。她这几天身体有点不舒服。
2. get wind of …
该习语表示“听到……的风声,得知……的消息”
It was at the eleventh hour that he got wind of what had happened.
直到最后一刻他才弄清究竟发生了什么事。
If they get wind of what we are doing , we ' ll then be in a very passive position.

3. break the ice
该习语很形象,字面意思为“破冰”,引申为“打破沉默(或僵局); 使气氛轻松”。
At the social gathering the weather is the subject which usually breaks the ice.

4. head in the clouds
该词组字面意思是“脑袋在云里”,其实是形容“胡思乱想,不切实际”。反义表达为have one's feet on the ground; be down-to-earth(脚踏实地)。

7. fair-weather friend(s)
Fair weather意为“好天气、晴空万里”,而fair-weather friends却表示“只有在一切安好、顺风顺水的时候才能做朋友的人”,近似于中文所说的“酒肉朋友” 。
A fair-weather friend will not contact you during your time of hardship.
