Personification是把物当作人来描写，常见的三种表现方式是：
（1）把物体或无形的自然现象当作人来描写
The rain to the wind said "You push and I'll pelt." 雨对风说，“你来狂吹，我来猛落”。
The hands spoke of the stubbornness of mankind of the will to work. 这双手诉说着人类的顽强，诉说着劳动的意志。
（2）把动物或植物当作人来描写
He glanced at the dew-covered glass, and it winked back at him. 他瞥了一眼洒满露水的青草，青草向他眨眨眼睛。
Edelweiss, edelweiss, 雪绒花，雪绒花，
Every morning you greet me. 每天清晨你想我问早。
（3）把抽象概念当作人来描写
These little thoughts are the rustle of leaves; they have their whisper of joy in my mind. 这些思维，是绿叶的簌簌声；他们在我的心里，愉快地微笑着。
