英文中的“交朋友”可以翻译成"make friends"没错，但是，要说“交个男朋友or交个女朋友”，可千万别依照葫芦画瓢将其翻译成：“make a boyfriend/make a girlfriend”，歪果仁可会吓坏的！
交男朋友 ≠make a boyfriend，你可以说make friends，也可以说make a good friend。
但是，交男朋友你说成make a boyfriend，人家以为你这么神通广大，把男朋友“造”出来了，那全天下的单身妹纸就有福了。这是因为make作动词时，可以表示“制造、拍摄、造成、到达”等等。
因此交男朋友可以这样说：get a boyfriend（get在这里表示获得）或是find a boyfriend（find在这里表示找）

go out就有与某人“谈恋爱”，“与（异性）交往；与…谈恋爱（或有性关系）”的意思。即If you go out with someone, the two of you spend time together socially, and have a romantic or sexual relationship.

3. to be seeing someone
正在和某人谈恋爱，交往”。它既可用于形容和特定的一个人交往、约会的早期阶段，也可用于描述两个人谈恋爱的状态，因此处于这种状态的时间可长可短。即If you are seeing someone, you spend time with them socially, and are having a romantic or sexual relationship.

4. play hard to get
这就是英语里的欲擒故纵啦，尤指恋爱之初“故作冷淡；装出矜持之态”。

5. go steady (with sb)
形容（和某人）保持稳定的恋爱关系，即date regularly; have a steady relationship with。
