我们天天玩手机，几乎沦为了手机的奴隶，可是“玩手机”的英文表达是什么呢？玩手机可不是“play the phone”。
首先，来看看play的用法，大家应该都知道玩乐器，弹钢琴play the piano 、弹小提琴play the violin, play后面要加“the”;而玩球类运动，play后面不需要加“the”，例如踢足球play football、打篮球play basketball 。这是为什么呢？
如果play后接的物体一直在手上，需要加“the”，否则不需要。因为篮球、足球都是抛来抛去，不是每个人一直控球，所以不加the，就是play football。而“the”，特指一直做某事，或拿着某样东西，弹钢琴就是play the piano。
但是玩手机说“play the phone”却不对！！！
因为玩手机，你实际上玩的是手机里面的软件、游戏，而非把玩手机本身，是通过手机屏，在上面滑动。所以，正确的说法是“play on the phone”。
英国人偏好用“mobile phone或者mobile”表达手机，而美国人习惯用“cell phone或cell”说手机。
