Hi, everybody! Welcome to Linda’s Class. I’m Linda. Today let’s read a story in the comic book Father and Son. It’s written by Plauen.
大家好！欢迎大家来到我的课堂。我是瞬儿老师。今天我们要读的故事是出自于漫画书《父与子》。
我们先来看题目Wow! The seal looks like someone.
Wow, 感叹词，used when you think something is very impressive or surprising. 当你感到惊讶或者印象深刻的时候你会用到它。 seal，海豹，这个词很好记，是大海sea这个词加上字母l就是它了。look 这里是感官动词，翻译为看起来。like这里是介词，像的意思。
所以这个题目说的是：哇！这只海豹看起来像某个人。
好，下面我们来看故事内容。
1. The dad and the son come to the aquarium to see the seal.
这里有一个生词，aquarium，a place where people go to look at fish and other water animals,我们翻译成水族馆。
这句话是说，这位爸爸和这个儿子来到水族馆看海豹。
2. A seal comes out of the water and pops out its lovely head.
一只海豹从水中出来了，这里的动词come使用了一般现在时的第三人称形式comes。后面pop也是用了动词的单三人称形式pops。pop means to come suddenly or unexpectedly. 突然出来的意思。and pops out its lovely head. 突然间露出它可爱的头。
哈哈，看这光头，这小眼睛，这几根小胡子，像不像画面中的某个人。以致这儿子忍不住了。
我们看下一幅图。这儿子回头瞅他爸。然后惊叹：
3. “Wow, this seal is looking exactly like my dad!” exclaims the son.
说，哇！这只海豹实在太像我的爸爸了！这里exactly是个表示程度的副词。它的原意是精确地，确切地。这里就是说，这只海豹和他爸爸的样子是精确的一致！分毫不差！
然后这个儿子exclaims. Exclaim means to say something suddenly and loudly because you are surprised, 就是呼喊，惊叫的意思。儿子惊讶地喊道。
接下来怎么样了呢？我们往下看。
4. Then there are another two seals popping out their heads and they all look like the dad. The dad mutters angrily, “Let’s go home, son! I don’t wanna see the seal any longer”.
Then, 副词，used to say what happens next or what you do next. 翻译为然后。我们常用的表示先后顺序的词，有first, then , after that, finally之类。
然后另外两只海豹也突然露出它们的头，并且他们都像这位爸爸。这个爸爸就mutters angrily. Mutter means to speak in a low voice, especially because you are annoyed about something, 就是因为什么事懊恼而小声嘀咕，说我们回家吧，儿子。I don’t wanna see the seal any longer. 这个wanna是want to 的一种简略说法，口语中经常这么说。not ... any longer这几个词构成的一个词组表示不再，再也不……和not ... anymore这里这位父亲说，我再也不想看海豹了。哈哈，看来这位父亲是真的生气了。
好了，我们的故事讲完了。我们来复习一下今天学到的词汇。
